"ABRAXAS" 1987 - Bass. formed with friends from high school. Lasted about 5 months, played a party that was busted by the cops..
"DEAD DROP" 1989 - Bass and Lead Vocals. formed with friends, rehearsed in an Air Stream trailer that was stuffed to the ceiling with sound gear that belonged to the gear rental company the drummer's family owned.
"SEPTURE" " 1990 - Rhythm Guitar. lasted about 3 months. Lead guitarist became a meth head in about 2 months, he staged a break in to the jam room, grabbed everything except his shit and hocked it all.
"SPEARHEAD" 1992 - Rhythm Guitar and Co-Lead Vocals. In the Army I formed a band with some fellow soldiers that lasted about 6 months. The good singer only knew pop covers and I only knew obscure metal and punk songs. Recorded 2 original songs I wrote the riffs for, "Tank Hill" and "Last Wish". They weren't anything fancy but it was a first for me, and I loved it!
"FEROCIOUS BUSH" 1993 - Rhythm Guitar and Lead Vocals. Just a jam band with one of my best friends. He was an aspiring drummer and we would get together twice a month to make up silly songs that made us laugh.
"BLACK PINATA" 1999 - Bass. This project lasted all of 3 rehearsals, but 2 songs came out of this project "Shred Over It" and "Bass Boat Red". The lead guitarist would say "Just play something and I'll shred over it". This was very annoying, some guy just railing every scale he had learned up to that point in his life as loud as he could possibly turn up! The second song had a real fun groove and a really funny story line about a redneck dominatrix that beat this guy's ass until it was Bass Boat Red.
"THE BURNING LOVE BAND" 2001 - 2015 Guitar. I formed a band with some friends, 2 of them had never played a note before. I asked the singer if he could actually sing of if he was just a fat guy that kinda looked like Elvis.. He's said "what to you mean KINDA look like him?" This band was so much fun, I wrote lots of material during this time, much of it became "Blacktop Syndicate" material.
"DOWNWIND" 2011 - Guitar and Co-Lead Vocals. A jam band comprised of some of my employees from my aircraft paint shop. We rehearsed at lunch and after hours in the tool room in the hangar at the time. It lasted about 8 months and was mostly cover songs, although we did play a couple of "Burning Love Band" songs just for fun. We played 4 shows, all of the songs we the typical cover band type stuff.
"BLACKTOP SYNDICATE" 2016 - Rhythm and Bass Guitar. Formed in early 2016 after the final reunion of the "Burning Love Band". It was with this project I got to do a little more DIY recording and finally got to professionally record music! I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Tim Dolbear for the first time with this project.
"DHARMA KINGS" 2019 - Rhythm Guitar. Short lived stint in the band. Wasnt in it long enough to play any shows, but had a great time and it paved the way for David Komie and I to work together in "Hillbilly Killbox".
"THE SOLO PROJECT" 2019 - Guitar, Bass, Vocals, Drums, ETC. First attempt at "just doing it all myself" and is still an active project.
"HILLBILLY KILLBOX" 2020 - Rhythm Guitar. I fuckin love this band! It reminds me of the amazing times I had with the early "Burning Love Band" and "Ferocious Bush" I love the humor in the songs, the fantastic players in the band, the themes and crazy shit we come up with! I can't wait for live shows! But I have had the opportunity to record with some more amazing engineers! only took 34 years...
